Bird’s Eye on Style // September

The summer is over, but the heat still swells and makes us move and shake. Our shorts are still short, our shoulders are still sunkissed, and the music festivals abound. As an ode to the nearing end of festival season, I thought I’d feature some of my favorite indie music babes and friends for this month’s fashion picks. Take a look at some sexy frontwomen I love who know what to do with old doc martins, oversized silks, and summer hair accessories.

Sam from Friends is the quintessential Bushwick babe. She wears jewelry from 7th grade, jorts from Connecticut consignment stores, and probably has a ton of crystals under her pillow. She is fearless, effortless, and a ton of fun.	My beloved Angelica from Body Language has an equal amount of hair language. She is a sight both on and off stage, and is probably the sweetest frontwoman I know. Rose crowns should probably persevere through the autumn seasons, along with delicate lace undergarments.

Lorely from Empress Of understands the power of boots and minis. I adore her curly bangs, and can’t get enough of her hand-me-down doc boots.	Pepi from Companion is an old soul and rules at guitar. It’s a relief and breath of fresh air to see her sing and play live. Thank you for wearing this perfect hat, Pepi.
