The Analog Project // Valleybrink Road

Barrett Prendergast is no stranger to the importance of presentation. Growing up, the Los Angeles native cultivated a love for fashion design that manifested itself with the launch of luxury bag line, Sud de Sur (with her husband, photographer Andre Vippolis) a few years back. But in the last six months, Barrett made a conscious move to switch mediums. As the founder and chef behind Valleybrink Road, you’re now more likely to find her with seasonal produce and an All-Clad skillet or KitchenAid than with a sketchbook and pencil. Though her interest in food and cooking has been building over the last decade or so, last year Barrett decided to take it a step further by cutting her teeth on the line under chef Corina Weibel at nearby Canele restaurant. Soon enough she started her food blog, which quickly gained a following and naturally lead to friends asking her to cater dinner parties. Now that she and Vippolis have closed their bag line, Valleybrink Road has become a full service personal chef and catering business. Barrett focuses on small-scale events, an intimate and cozy experience that lets her simple but sophisticated dishes shine with locally sourced ingredients.

The Analog Project is an ongoing feature in which we provide a camera to an artist/s whose vision and expression we admire. We ask that they carry the camera along documenting their adventures. The result is a collection of images developed on film exclusively for BUNCH.
