When was the store established?
November of 2011.
How did you develop the idea for the shop?
Wanted to create a shop with a mix of brands and items. I think when people go to boutiques they want to find some unique items, but its always important to try to stock well known brands that can help draw in people A big inspiration for me is reading Monocle Magazine, they always seems to spotlight some great products.
If you could have anyone in the world come visit Gramercy York, who would it be and why?
I guess it wouldn’t be one particular person, but in general someone who is well traveled and appreciates well made products.
What new items/artists are you most excited to feature in the shop?
We are pretty excited about the brand Wonder Baggage. They are a brand out of Japan, we are the first shop in the U.S. to stock them. Great, high quality bags. Made in small production using Japanese nylon and leather.
You're located in Culver City, what are your favorite parts of the new neighborhood?
Really like the arts district here because of the mix of galleries, shops and restaurants. Also like the Hayden Tract area, feel like that could be the next spot here in Culver City.
